Crane Run-in Period Operation and Maintenance
Crane Run-in Period Operation and Maintenance
The use of the crane generally have run-in period for using, which is based on the technical characteristics of the crane during initial use. Run-in period is an important part of the crane use to ensure the normal operation of the crane, reducing the failure rate and prolong the crane life. But actually, some users lack of common sense or because of the crane tight schedule, or they would like to get the benefit as soon as possible, they ignoring the new run-in period of the special requirements of the crane. Some users even think that the manufacturer responsible for the warranty period, the factory responsible for the maintenance of the broken part, therefore the crane with long time overload during run-in period, leading to malfunction frequently in crane early using period, which not only affected the normal use of the crane, shortening the crane using life, but also affect the project progress because damage to the crane. Thus, the crane user should be focusing on the run-in period using and maintenance.
First, the run-in period features:
1. Fast wearing. Due to the impact of new crane machine parts processing, assembly and adjustment factors, the rough friction appearance, with a smaller area of contact surface, the appearance pressure is uneven. During crane operation, the appearance of the parts convex friction fitted to each other, grinding down to the metal debris, and also as abrasive, continue to participate in friction, accelerated the wear of parts appearance. Therefore, it is easy to lead to crane parts wear (especially with the appearance) during run-in period, and with fast wear. At this time, if overload operation, it may cause damage to components, resulting in premature failure of the crane.
2. Resulting in loose. For the new processing and assembly parts, there is a geometric shape and dimension of bias, in the early use, because of shock, vibration, etc. alternating load, and the effects of heat, deformation and other factors, coupled with excessive wear and other reasons, easy to make the original fastening parts loosening.
3. Poor smooth. Due to the small space between the new assembly components, due to assembly and other reasons, it is difficult to ensure smoothness with the gap; the lubricating oil is difficult to form a smooth oil film outer friction to prevent wear. Thereby reduce the effectiveness of smooth, leading to early abnormal wear of parts. When serious form scratch or bite friction, leading to failure.
4. Occurrence of leakage. Because of mechanical joint loosening, the effects of vibration and heat of the machine, there will be occurred with leakage; part casting, machining defects, etc., is difficult to find at the time of assembly debugging, but due to vibration and shock effect during operation, the defect was exposed, showed of oil (water) leakage (infiltration). Thus, the run-in period is prone to leakage.
5. More operational errors. Because of inadequate understanding of crane structure and performance (especially for the new operator), susceptible to failures caused by operational errors, as well as causing crane mechanical accident.
Second, use and maintenance during run-in period
Because crane is special machinery, the operator should be trained and guided by the manufacturer, they need to have a full understanding on the structure and performance of the crane, and have certain operating and maintenance experience before operating.
